Much like the game it's adapted from, the Animation has two endings one 'normal' and one true.Persona 4 the Animation – Yuu Narukami moves to Inaba, a seemingly quiet and ordinary town, where he quickly befriends the clumsy transfer student Yousuke Hanamura, the energetic Chie Satonaka, and the beautiful heiress Yukiko Amagi. The rest of the series focuses on Yu as he balances school life with investigating the murders, never resting until he divines the ultimate truth. This self-confidence awakens her persona, allowing her to serve alongside the rest of the freshly-christened 'Investigation Team.' Yukiko eventually accepts 'Shadow Yukiko' as part of her, even if she's not proud of that aspect. A battle ensues after Yukiko rejects that both of them are the same person. During this adventure, they learn of Shadows, the darker impulses and thoughts that humans have, given flesh.Įventually, Yu, Chie, and Yosuke use their 'personas' (similar to a shadow, but they serve as extensions of the persona-user) to find Yukiko dealing with her Shadow self. However, the Yukiko depicted here is nothing like the Yukiko they've known.Įventually the three steel themselves into entering the Midnight Channel to rescue Yukiko. Circumstances then lead to them wondering where fellow classmate Yukiko Amagi has gone missing only for her to appear on the Midnight Channel soon after. He shares this incident with his classmates Chie and Yosuke who find it odd when they both saw a girl. Yu decides to give this a try and finds himself nearly eaten by his television after putting his hand up to it. Rumors soon spread of a Midnight Channel, where if you look at a television at midnight with the lights off during a foggy night, you will see your soul mate. Right as he settles into small town life at high school, a murder occurs with the body being hung from a power line. In it, city boy Yu Narukami finds himself spending a year in the boonies of Inaba, living with his uncle, Ryotaro Dojima, and his young daughter, Nanako. Persona 4: The Animation is a 25 episode anime adaptation of the PS2 video game, Persona 4, with the true ending to the series released as a film.
